Supplementary hours
In grades 8 to 10, supplementary lessons expand the range of subject lessons offered at Gronau Comprehensive School. Supplementary lessons serve the individual support of your child. The students decide on their own profile, which they can choose from different offers.
Below we provide information about the different areas of supplementary lessons and offer an overview and help in choosing an individual profile.
The supplementary lessons for the individualization of the school career
From eighth to tenth grade, students* have the opportunity to spend 2 to 4 hours a week individually based on their own interests, talents, and opportunities.
As a first option, students can choose Latin as an additional foreign language. Students who do not wish to study Latin choose from five different modules over the three years according to their interests. Different courses are offered for each module. Students usually take these courses for one year. However, they can choose the courses offered again in subsequent years. Each course is offered for two hours per week.
In grade 10, students who do not take Latin are also required to attend one hour/week of weekly subject support, which helps them prepare for their individual goals. This hour is automatically scheduled in the timetable of the classes.
Here you can find information about the additional foreign language Latin as well as about the individual offers in the different supplementary modules:
