School Careers

All children learn together longer ...

...regardless of whether your child has a special or lower secondary school recommendation or could attend a Realschule or Gymnasium based on their grades, in the 5th grade everyone starts together in one class.

From Year 7 onwards, pupils can then choose another language or other subjects according to their interests and aptitude. These then become the 4th main subject. At the same time, mathematics and English are taught at different levels in Year 7 (basic and advanced level). German is differentiated in the comprehensive school from Year 8.

At the same time, supplementary lessons are added from year 9 onwards, in which individual inclinations and abilities can be taken into account. Up to year 10, students can choose from a range of modules.

In grade 9, there is an additional subject differentiation in the natural sciences: chemistry or physics. We currently focus on chemistry.

At the end of year 10, students have completed their first school-leaving certificate. They can then switch to the world of work or continue to attend school in order to aim for the Abitur.

The comprehensive school in Gronau offers its own three-year upper school. The school cooperates in some subjects with the Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium and the Euregio-Gesamtschule in Epe in order to be able to offer students a good and broad range of subjects. The main subject on offer is Spanish as a new foreign language and, in future, sport as an advanced course.
