Career exploration supported by institutions in Ahaus

From May 11 to 13, 19 voluntary Year 8 pupils took part in the sponsor-supported career exploration days at the vocational training centers in Ahaus. The aim of the event was to provide the young people with practical insights into various professional fields and to gain initial professional experience.

Over three varied days, the participants were able to get to know different areas of work and get hands-on experience. They were given an insight into the construction, electrical, commercial, hairdressing and painting professions. Under the guidance of specialists, the pupils worked on their own small projects and learned about typical work processes in the respective professions.

A particular highlight of the career exploration was the visit by the mayor of Gronau on the last day of the event. He visited the site to find out about the young people's work and showed particular interest in the practical work on the bricklaying course.

The career exploration days offered young people the opportunity to discover their own interests and skills and make their first contacts with the world of work.
