"We get to know each other" - A successful start for the new sixth form students

The week was packed full of varied activities, which were not only intended to make it easier for the students to enter the upper school, but also to strengthen their team spirit. In various team-building games, the students got to know each other better through play and were able to put their communication and cooperation skills to the test. Particularly popular were "people bingo", where the aim was to discover similarities, and the group challenges in the schoolyard, where teamwork was required. The photo rally not only involved exploring the school building and the surrounding area (there are 14 garbage cans in the schoolyard and 4 water dispensers in the school building), but also producing funny and creative photos that were a lot of fun to look at.

Sport was not neglected either: a sporting morning with mixed teams was not about scoring points, but about fair play and having fun. The time spent together on the pitch helped to break down inhibitions and forge new friendships.

Another highlight of the week was the excursion to the Technology Campus in Steinfurt. There, the pupils gained exciting insights into modern technologies, degree courses and careers in the STEM sector. Many were particularly impressed by the laboratory tours and the practical hands-on stations, which whetted their appetite for more - perhaps even for a later course of study in one of the subject areas presented.

The week ended with a joint reflection session, during which a lot of positive feedback was given. "I was worried at first, but now I'm really looking forward to the upper school," said one student. Another student added: "I hardly knew anyone - now I already have a few people I get on well with."

With lots of new impressions, contacts and an extra dose of motivation, our new sixth form students are now starting their summer vacation - ready for the next big step on their educational journey.
