The comprehensive school had put together a varied and interesting program. A speed dating session gave pupils from both schools the opportunity to get to know each other personally. After some initial "strangeness", initial contacts were quickly made, which were deepened over breakfast afterwards. After everyone had had their fill, they went to the Rock'n Pop Museum in the city center of Gronau. There, the pupils visited the permanent exhibition in small bilingual groups and put their singing skills to the test in a joint karaoke session. This showed that music can be a unifying and cross-border element for cultural exchange. The pupils learned interesting facts about artists and bands from both countries - who has ever heard of Dutch palingpop, for example? At the end of the museum visit, a group photo was taken of all the project participants. Accompanied by farewell greetings in both languages, the Dutch guests cycled home again.

The partnership between the two schools has been cultivated for several years and forms an integral part of the school program of our comprehensive school. The idea behind the regular cross-border encounters is to offer pupils from both countries the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience beyond their own cultural horizons. The Gronau comprehensive school would like to thank the Euregio. The project: "Hier zit muziek in!-Borderless musical experiences" was made possible by the Interreg program Germany-Nederland and its program partners and co-financed by the European Union (EU).
