Duurzaam(heid) leren met je buren - Learning sustainability with your neighbors

Although the afternoon came to an end with a group photo, the joint activities were far from over. The two groups of students will meet again in Münster in December to look more closely at the topic of sustainability, duurzaamheid in Dutch. This exchange will be carried out locally by students from the Faculty of Dutch as part of a study project at the University of Münster. The culmination will be a joint visit to the Christmas market. Another project, a so-called Taaldorp, is already in the planning phase.

We, the Dutch department at Gronau Comprehensive School, are delighted to have gained a new partner from the Euregio in the form of the Stedelijk Lyceum Enschede Zuid, which is working intensively and long-term with us to ensure that young people from both nations get to know each other better and exchange ideas about cultural and linguistic similarities as well as differences. With the Stedelijk Lyceum Enschede Zuid and the Basisschool De Troubadour, our comprehensive school has two cooperation schools from the border region that enrich our school life and enable our pupils to experience their Dutch neighbors and their culture in an authentic way.

A large group of pupils from the Gronau Comprehensive School and the Stedelijk Lyceum Enschede Zuid stand together on the steps in front of the Cinetech cinema in Gronau. The young people pose for a group photo after a joint discussion on the topic of sustainability. The glass façade of the cinema with the illuminated lettering "Cinetech" can be seen in the background.
