"Diversity is our strength" - school campaign against racism

During the International Weeks against Racism, which took place from March 17 to 30, 2025 under the motto "Protecting human dignity", our school took part in a special joint campaign involving several schools from Gronau.

On 28.03.2025, around 300 of our pupils, accompanied by teachers, made their way together to the church square in the town center. Several school groups from all over Gronau gathered there to send a strong and visible signal against racism and for respectful, equal coexistence. Our student representatives Clara and Bennet spoke a few words on behalf of the school community and made it clear that diversity and solidarity are core values of our everyday school life. At the same time, they called for self-reflection and to take responsibility in order to actively counteract discrimination.

🗣️ "It's not enough to see yourself as 'not racist'.
We have to recognize, name and actively change racist structures - even if it's uncomfortable.
Because justice doesn't happen by itself.

The topic was also present in the school building itself throughout the entire week of action: numerous classes and courses talked, discussed and worked on racism, discrimination and human dignity. Many groups also designed posters, banners and creative contributions, which were carried along on the common walk or exhibited in the school.

We would like to thank all students and teachers for their commitment - and for taking a stand. Because only together can we stand up for an open, diverse and non-discriminatory society.
