Performance of the climate musical Polar Bear and Dr. Ping at Gronau Comprehensive School

Even though a polar bear and a penguin won't actually meet, they manage to do so in the musical, which brings them closer together. They fight resolutely against the power guzzlers who are harming the earth because, like us, they often think too much of their own interests. In the end, however, they successfully bring them to their knees.

The costumes sewn by Cerstin Diekman, which were designed with great attention to detail, also deserve special mention.

The children performed with great dedication and ensured that the message of the play - the urgency of climate change and the responsibility of each individual - was impressively conveyed. If a polar bear has to hide in the fridge to cool down, then the world is out of joint.

The musical interludes, the songs that supported the message of the play, complemented the plot.„Chill out with chips – chill out with me – one, two three”. "It's wonderful in the fridge, so wonderfully cool" - just two of the titles sung by the children of the Theater AG. They were actively supported by the choir, also part of the Theater AG. It was a pleasure to see the children perform.

All in all, Polar Bear and Dr. Ping was a successful performance that not only entertained, but also made people think. The Gronau comprehensive school's drama club proved that young people can bring big themes to the stage with creativity and commitment. A round of applause for everyone involved.
