In technology class, the initial focus is on getting familiar with VR headsets. Students learn how the devices work, how to use them safely, and what possibilities they offer. In the process, they not only learn how to use the technology but also how virtual reality is applied in various professions.
A particularly interesting example is the virtual maintenance of a wind turbine. Instead of climbing a real tower several hundred meters high, learners can use VR headsets to enter a wind turbine and perform maintenance work there. They inspect components, look for faults, and familiarize themselves with the procedures—all without any risk.
The use of VR makes lessons more engaging and motivates many students. At the same time, it fosters important skills such as technical understanding, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in using digital media.
Through this project, the Euregio Comprehensive School demonstrates how modern technologies can enrich the classroom. Virtual reality opens up new learning opportunities and prepares students for the workforce of tomorrow.
