Project Course on the Epe Cavern Field Honored for Its Scientific Publications

The project course on the Epe cavern field has been a remarkable success: The report on the informational event held at the Euregio Comprehensive School in Gronau-Epe—organized in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Rudolph from the Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences in Bochum—was published in two prestigious academic journals.

The project’s findings were first published in the international journal *First Break*, a globally recognized publication of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE). In addition, the work was published in the journal *Markscheidewesen* (Issue 01/2026). As a result, our students’ research has garnered attention that extends far beyond the school setting.

In the project course, participants explored current issues related to the Epe cavern field and gained practical insight into scientific work. Close collaboration with Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences enabled them to experience university-level research and actively contribute to it.

The publication of these results in scientific journals is a special recognition of the dedication, perseverance, and professional quality of the work that has been done. It impressively demonstrates the opportunities that arise from collaboration between schools and universities.

About the publications:

We congratulate all the students who participated on this outstanding achievement and extend our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Dr. Rudolph for his tireless dedication.
