A sense of belonging and curiosity about new things—that was the theme of the welcome service for the new fifth-grade classes, organized by Ms. Heilen, Ms. Tapken, and Ms. Müller-Wenderdel, along with Q2 students. Parents and students were welcomed with warm words and set the tone for the coming school year.
At the end, the high school students gave the new fifth-graders a bracelet with a tree charm as a symbol of putting down roots, but also of growing in new directions.
Finally, in the auditorium, Principal Herden and Introductory Level Coordinator Ms. Hense also welcomed the students, and a group of sixth graders, with the support of Ms. Walter and Ms. Fischer, sang a song they had specially rehearsed.
Following this opening ceremony, two more eventful orientation days took place at the school, so that all fifth graders were now well-prepared to start the coming week.
