The WRO is an international robotics competition for children and teenagers. In the RoboMission competition category, teams develop autonomous robots that must complete specific tasks on the playing field. This year’s theme was “Robots Meet Culture.” The focus was on how robots and automation can be used to protect cultural heritage, bring art and history to life, or serve as creative partners in art and culture.

On the day of the competition in Lingen, three young teams—who have only been part of the robotics club since the start of this school year—achieved the two-star “Advanced” rating in the RoboMission Starter category, with one of the teams narrowly missing the highest three-star rating. A fourth team achieved a solid eighth-place finish in the RoboMission Junior category. Congratulations to all four teams on these remarkable achievements.
On behalf of everyone involved, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the WvSG Friends Association, which has once again provided financial support to the Robotics Club by covering the costs of the new robotics kits, competition fields, and registration fees for the World Robot Olympiad.
