A jury from the Climate Protection and Environment Department of the City of Gronau reviewed numerous entries and ultimately selected the winning photos. The winning classes were honored during a festive ceremony in the City Hall conference room. Mayor Jörg von Borczyskowski praised the students’ dedication and presented the certificates to the students who were present on behalf of their classes.
Particularly encouraging: Two EGS classes secured top placements. Class 10d achieved an outstanding third place in the “Lower Secondary Level” category. Their competition entry was created during geography class and clearly demonstrated how thoughtfully the class approaches the topic of climate protection. As a prize, the class received stainless-steel lunchboxes—a practical prize that fits perfectly with the competition’s theme and promotes the idea of sustainability.
The excitement was even greater in Class 8a, which even took first place with the photo they created in art class. Their creative entry won over the jury across the board. As the grand prize, the class won a trip to the Klimahaus in Bremerhaven—a special field trip that will take place during the coming school year. The excitement in the class was immense. The students are already looking forward to the exciting trip and to further deepening their knowledge of climate and the environment.
